The food OPTIONS are endless and can be overwhelming! You want to eat more healthy, you want to set a good example, but just where to START?

With that said, here are 5 simple food swaps you can make to get started on your healthy lifestyle, and you can start today! 👊

1. Say "NO" to Pasta and "YES" to Zoodles and Spaghetti Squash

I honestly believe the real flavor of any Pasta Dish is actually the sauce, not the actual pasta. Switching to spiraled zucchini (Zoodles) or Spaghetti Squash can save you over 350 calories and up to 71 carbs for a one cup serving.

2. Choose Celery Sticks/Bell Pepper Slices over Chips/Crackers

Cut not only calories and carbs but the extra SODIUM! Swapping out your Chips/Cracker for Celery or Bell Pepper "scoopers" can save you over 500 calories and more than 40 carbs for the same one cup serving.

3. Swap out Sour Cream for Low Fat Plain Greek Yogurt.

So many health benefits, including gut health with probiotics, makes this swap a no-brainer. Choosing one cup of Yogurt over the same amount of Sour Cream cuts your caloric intake by over 66% and your fat by 97%, with less than one gram of fat in your Yogurt alternative.

4. Forgo the BUN!

Just saying "Pass" on your hamburger bun will save you an average of 144 Calories and 26 carbs! Swap your MINDSET with this one. This was one of my very first shifts... I chose to view my bun-less burger as a STEAK! I ate it with a knife and fork and savored any of the toppings such as tomato, lettuce, mushrooms, cheese along side or smothered on it!

Another tip is to double up on the veggies on that burger (now steak) and cut up the meat into bite-sized pieces and put it all in a bowl and eat like a salad!

5. Make the switch from Tortillas to Large Leaf Lettuce

Just like with Pasta in #1, I feel like the real taste of a Tortilla is what's INSIDE, not necessarily the wrap... SO, using Large Leaf Lettuce instead still gives you all the yummy inside flavor, adds some veggies to the mix and saves you ove 350 calories, cuts the carbs by over 90% and fat by 95%
